CITY NEWS:
TEMECULA
The City of Temecula will be closing all Community Services facilities, athletic venues, and outdoor amenities, effective Monday, March 16, 2020 through April 5, 2020*. All rentals, contract classes, programs, and events will also be cancelled. Staff will be contacting affected participants regarding refunds where applicable. The City will continue to monitor this situation closely and will revise the order as required in order to best safeguard public health. This closure includes:

MURRIETA
In accordance with State and County orders, the City of Murrieta is instituting the following mitigation measures to help slow down the spread of COVID-19 and protect residents that are most at risk:
Effective March 16, 2020, a Riverside County Public Health order prohibits all gatherings of 10 or more people and requires six-foot distancing for gatherings of less than 10.
- Effective March 14, 2020: We closed the Library, Senior Center, Youth and Community Centers, and pausing Parks and Recreation programming through April 30, 2020. City Hall remains open, and Police and Fire operations will continue. This date will be re-assessed regularly. In addition, we are:
- Following all Public Health orders and canceling City events.
- Applying and promoting social distancing (6 feet).
- Increasing access to hygiene stations at City facilities.
- Exploring options for remote public meetings.
- Amplifying public outreach on best practices for limiting germ spread.
- In addition, the Murrieta Valley Unified School District has announced it will close all schools and programs until further notice. Please visit their website for information.

As of March 17, 2020, 6 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time, there are a total of 598 positive cases and 13 deaths in California (including one non-California resident). This total does not include passengers from the Grand Princess cruise ship currently docked in Oakland.
Ages of all confirmed positive cases:
- Age 0-17: 13 cases
- Age 18-64: 392 cases
- Age 65+: 188 cases
- Unknown: 5 cases
- 24 – Cases of positive tests related to federal repatriation flights
- 574 – Cases not related to repatriation flights
- 91 – Travel related
- 88– Person-to-person acquired

- Approximately 11,900 people are self-monitoring, across 49 local health jurisdictions, after returning to the U.S. from travel.
Twenty-one public health labs in California are testing samples for COVID-19. These labs include the California Department of Public Health's Laboratory in Richmond, Alameda, Contra Costa, Humboldt, Los Angeles, Monterey, Napa-Solano-Yolo-Marin (located in Solano), Orange, Riverside, Sacramento, San Bernardino, San Diego, San Francisco, San Joaquin, San Luis Obispo, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Shasta, Sonoma, Tulare and Ventura County public health laboratories The Richmond Laboratory will provide diagnostic testing within a 48-hour turnaround time. More public health labs will soon be able to test samples for COVID-19. This means California public health officials will get test results sooner, so that patients will get the best care.
